Cam Sinclair Ready to Go for Gold at X Games 16

Cam Sinclair will finally get the opportunity to achieve his childhood dream of an X Games medal in Los Angeles, California (USA) this Friday night in the Staples Center.

Sinclair missed the opportunity to compete in the worlds most prestigious action sports event last year, after suffering serious injuries in an accident the week prior whilst competing in the Red Bull X Fighters competition in Madrid, Spain.

Under rotating his now signature trick, the double backflip Sinclair suffered a ruptured liver, severe head injuries and multiple broken bones. However, after intensive rehabilitation, the 25-year-old is determined to land the world's most dangerous action sports stunt once again and be only the second person in the world ever to do so at the X Games. Sinclair's incredible determination to make a full recovery fueled by his desire to win a medal in the biggest competition in the world, against the very best.

"My dream to win an X Games medal is what motivated me the most to go to rehab day in and day out, to get back on the bike after Madrid. Now this weekend I'll finally get my chance. I have been thinking about this moment for a long time, I just can't wait to get out there," Sinclair said.

Whilst winning a medal in Los Angeles this Friday is Sinclair's ultimate goal, he admits the incredibly competition in X Games will make achieving this no mean feat. Incredibly, even the double backflip may not be a guaranteed medal winner in the current world of Freestyle Motocross (FMX).

With Sinclair contemplating pushing the realms of what was previously believed to be impossible but including variations to the stunt mid air; however wont comment at this late stage as to what his exact plans are for the event.

"The X Games is as good as it gets for action sports in the world. To be selected out of only 8 in the world is a huge achievement for me after everything I've been through; but I'm going to give it everything I've got. I'd love to be able to ad trick combos to the double flip; but it will all depend on how I'm feeling on Friday and if I can lay it on the line, we'll see what happens," Sinclair concluded.
